Description

Re-submitting this from my last account... This picture was made a while ago.

Species name: Unknown
- Though, their calling has been kept secret from man kind, they have been known as Transylvanian Poison-Thorns or simply Transylvanian Dragons for many centauries.

Origin: All across Romania and it’s said the first of them came from Transylvania
-A good number of the dragons among Romania live in Transylvania. And though it’s rare, from time to time a dragon may travel away from the Romanian borders, and in doing so may found a pack or clan in another regain. It’s not imposable to find a Transylvanian group out of Romania, it’s just extremely rare.

Life Span: The oldest Transylvanian Dragon was about 2100 years old before he died. But the dragons have said that in the past, there have been others that lived even longer. So, the life span is estimated to be able 1000-2000 years, if not more. But the dragons normally die before reaching such an age.

General Personality: Protective/territorial, social, stubborn, curious, loyal
- Poison-Thorns are ‘generally’ group creatures and very social with their families and other close ones. This does not mean they would take kindly to any old Joe; for after a long and un-forgetful history with man, they have learned not to trust them and normally won’t tolerate their presence. More often than not, they would just steer clear of the human villages and choose only to attack when that is their only other choice.
- Being protective and territorial is only natural. It’s a trait found in most dragon species.
- Hard headed and stubborn, yes. These dragons love to get their way out of things and if the time seems right, will try whatever they can to get what they want.
- Having such a curious nature is normally what gets these dragons in trouble with man. Wandering into human villages, getting into barns, and killing live stalk just to get a little taste. This characteristic is normally found in the younger dragons though, with age comes wisdom.
- Transylvanian Poison-Thorns are known for their loyalty. When it comes to the protection of a loved one, they have been known to fight willingly, even if it means the death of them.
- Not all the Poison-Thorns have the same characteristic traits; the ones above are only the most commonly found. Some of the dragons prefer to be loners; others would rather save themselves rather then their family. The personalities differ from dragon to dragon.

Body Features: Very good hearing, eyes, as well as stealth and speed abilities
- The large set of ears makes for perfect hearing, way better then the average kind of European dragon.
- Unlike their ears, the eyes of a Poison-Thorn aren’t super duper great, but are exceptionally good. They are useful when it comes to spotting things on the ground below while flying high above, much like a hawk. And seeing as their eyes attract light really well, they have excellent night vision.
- The bottom of their claws are firm and act much like paw pads, making it easy for them to effortlessly walk around without being noticed. That is, if they don’t step on anything of course.
- Their legs are extremely strong, and large lungs make a long swift run an easy task. Way back before the dragons lost their trust in humans, man used to ride them from town to town, with them delivering news from other areas. This was the quickest and easiest way to go long distances, but once the dragons parted, man had to turn to horses.

Exclusive Body Features: Horns, Blades, Claws, and Mouth
-The horns of a Transylvanian Poison-Thorn are quiet interesting. The front portion of the horns looks the same on ‘all’ of them, and grows really slowly. They normally stop growing in their late teens making a crescent like shape; but it’s more so curved in to make an incomplete circle. On a very rare occasion, there is a birth defect where the front part of the horns won’t stop growing… And ‘normally’, the horns end up growing through the skull and killing the dragon. There is only one known dragon to have survived this.
As for the back part of the horns, they grow a lot faster. On average, they stop growing as fast when the Poison-Thorn gets to their middle teens. But, that’s not the end, for the back part never actually stops growing. It’s just, after a certain point, the horns start to grow extremely slow. And also, the back parts of the horns differ in design from dragon to dragon.
[note: when it comes to mating, a lot of times the size, design, or look of a males horns may get him a female. But one female may like big horns, while another may simply like curled horns.]
- About 3 ‘or’ more blades suspend from a Poison-Thorns tail. They come in gold, silver, and copper colors, and are surprisingly not as heavy as they look. These are used mainly in battle, and make for an easy use at cutting up he or she’s opponent. And yes, these things are exceptionally sharp, and if you where to run your finger swiftly down the sharp end, you would be cut. And that’s not all, for the blades are slightly poison- due to the fact that when the dragons clean and lick the blades, their saliva of which is piousness, dries on it. To be scratched by the blades would not mean death, only a small infection, or maybe nothing at all. It just depends on a person’s reaction to the poison.
[note: These too are also used in attracting a mate. A male with shiny blades is more likely to get a females eye.]
- When getting ready to fight or hunt, adrenalin pumps through the dragons’ body. In reaction, the claws become piousness. One cut with these claws could not kill a human or large animal, a rodent maybe. So if for some reason, you’re scratched by one of these dragons, like while playing… Don’t worry, your not going to die! xD
[note: The color of the claws is always the same color as the eyes]
- The strongest poison a Transylvanian Dragon has comes from its mouth. The saliva, much like the claws, becomes poison when adrenalin is released into the body. So unless the dragon is trying to kill you, being licked by one wouldn’t do much at all. But, being bitten ‘could’ be another story. One of the most deadly poisons ever recorded, comes from a Transylvanian Poison-Thorns teeth. But, this area can be controlled at will. If you are bitten, but only out of play, you wouldn’t die. But if the dragon intended on killing you, depending on your size, it wouldn’t take long. An average sized human would die in about 15-20 min… A human baby would die almost moments after being bitten.
[note: All Transylvanian Poison-Thorns are immune to this unique poison! And the color tongue, plus inside mouth colors, depends on the color of the eyes also]
Fur Facts: All colors
- It’s rare that a Poison-Thorn is just one color. Normally the fur would consist of one main color, and lighter are darker shades of the same thing. Though, multi colors like red and blue aren’t very uncommon.

Other: Food
- Poison-Thorns eat meats and fruit.
-May eat bugs from time to time, but it's not their favorite dish lol.

Transylvanian Poison-Thorns copyright under ‘law’ to me, Alex! DO NOT STEAL! If you’re caught, you can get in some extreme trouble for it! Not to mention what I’ll do to you!

Though, if you are dying to make one, just let me know and I’d be happy to let you! Just as long as you give credit to me, and have read the info above.
-Any other questions, just ask me!

Btw: The dragon used in the ref is kinda what my character Rave looks like! Don’t steal his design either, or I will hunt you down, and do evil things!!!
